Am I asking too much here in this trade?

I have Jason Grilli at $1 in an NL-only 10-team 4x4 league. (W, ERA, WHIP, Saves).

Have one team interested at this point; I think I may be shooting for the moon here, but I'll take the shot.

I trade

Grilli, Aramis Ramirez ($10) and Joey Votto ($24) for

Gerritt Cole ($14), Jorge Soler ($10) and Darrin Ruf ($1).

Thoughts?

Grilli is a possible/probable to close for a bad team.

Is the idea to win this year or next?

You are giving up a soiid hitter in Votto and and aging but still might have something left in the tank in Ramirez

For a keeper up and coming superstar (Probably) and a soild pitcher and a nearly everyday space filler.

Looks okay if your goal is to get a $10 Soler and the other team is trying to win this year and really needs a closer. He may say "no" based upon Soler's future value (and if he can afford to give-up a good SP in Cole), but it's worth a shot and it's not insulting.

So I see it as a terrible offer, I'd much rather have Cole and Soler for the future (can't trust Grill to close beyond 2015 imo; I don't like closer keepers), and I don't actually see Soler/Cole as much worse than the 3 you are offering for this year.

But...3 other bullpen members just said above that it seemed fair, so can't hurt to try.

Nope, it's a decent offer...I wouldn't take it, but I wouldn't scornfully refuse it either.

It looks fair to me, but I think if I had nursed Soler on my minors for years, I'd perhaps think not. Also, it's a 4x4, so those saves are meaty. And, Votto is a horse in OBP (if you use that). Not unfair at all.
