Josh Hamilton needs surgery to repair the AC joint in his right shoulder, a procedure that will sideline him for 6-8 weeks.
Hamilton dealt with shoulder issues last September and said that the symptoms "resurfaced this past week." He’s expected to resume baseball activities in a minimum of three weeks, but a 6-8 week rehab timetable leaves his availability for Opening Day up in the air. Hamilton had just a .745 OPS last season while being limited to 89 games due to injury. C.J. Cron should see some extra playing time early in the season assuming Hamilton gets a late start.
