Jayson Werth is scheduled to undergo arthroscopic surgery Friday on his right shoulder.
Yikes. Werth will need 2-3 months of recovery time, bringing into question his readiness for the beginning of the 2015 regular season. The 35-year-old outfielder missed a chunk of time last August due to discomfort in his right shoulder, and it obviously wasn't getting any better this winter. Michael Taylor would likely open 2015 as the Nationals' starting left fielder if Werth isn't recovered.-per rotoworld
