Hunter Renfroe heating up (again). I'm thinking that Mr. Streaky could become a Khris Davis clone with 40 hrs, 100 rbi and a ba south of .250Last edited by madducks; 05-25-2019, 07:36 PM.“Two things are infinite: the universe and human stupidity; and I'm not sure about the universe.”

CBS Sports.com a couple of days ago:
Kevin Acee of the San Diego Union-Tribune told Jon Schaeffer of XTRA 1360 on Wednesday that the Padres are hoping to get Cordero (elbow) back "very soon."
The team has provided next to nothing on Cordero's progress in the weeks since he landed on the injured list with a sore right elbow. It's still unclear where exactly he stands in his rehabilitation, but this statement would seem to suggest Cordero is close to playing in minor-league games.finished 10th in this 37th yr in 11-team-only NL 5x5

I have been watching all (most) of the Padres pre-game and post-game shows, and there has been absolutely no word regarding Franchy. It's like he has eased to exist. Did he have TJ? Was he secretly suspended for some reason? It's just really strange how they have kept him under wraps.
Unrelated, can Franmil keep up his near 40 HR pace for this season? I'm wondering if he's tiring out?

He homered in the third inning and then exited in the sixth inning after trying to beat out a grounder, ending up on the ground after running through the bag. The nature of the injury suggests it might be a hamstring strain, but there has been no official word. Cordero was getting there with his timing during this rehab stint, so it now sounds like the leg is a bigger issue than the elbow. Consider him out indefinitely."
Gee whiz. He sounds too fragile to be playing baseball.Last edited by minnehan; 06-18-2019, 02:37 AM.

Good article on the bond John Cena shares with tonight’s rookie starter making his first ever start, Logan Allen:
As soon as Logan Allen's first word was 'ball', he knew he would be a professional baseball player. Like most players, the 21-year-old left-hander has risen through the Padres' system methodically, but since he was a teenager, his path has been unique.Living in Asheville, N.C., Allen was enrolled at T.C. Roberson High
