Franchy lead the AA Texas League in triples last year (8), in just 59 games.
He went through both A+ and AA last year, and his AA numbers were easily the best of his team at age 21 (.834 ops vs team overall of .655). But his Ks are a bit too high - he very likely won't do well at this time.
I predict he'll be the Ryan Schimpf of triples this week (Schimpf is 3/18 in his last 7 games, with 3 HRs). I'm starting both of them.people called me an idiot for burning popcorn in the microwave, but i know the real truth. - nullnor

Has there ever been a promotion in MLB like this one? five wins ... not games ...
Padres promotion: $99 for five home wins in June ... no matter how many games it takesIt certainly feels that way. But I'm distrustful of that feeling and am curious about evidence.

- Schimpf: 1/4, solo hr

Renfroe has seemed to have righted the ship and Margot is set in CF and should be back soon. Dickerson will get his chance to grow like the two previously mentioned.
The Padres truly want to see what the three of them can do together as an OF.
I don't think there will be a weird platoon, Green has shown he's going to stick with the plan. Renfroe has started 54 of 55 games, Margot has started 47 of the 51 games (he was injured for a couple of those) Dickerson's slot is, IMO, his to lose once he's good to go. they'll sort out the 4-5 OF as they go, Jank is out into July, Szczur isn't showing much, Spang has been relegated back to the IF only Cordoba has shown that he's an asset in the OF.
So no worries once Dickerson gets back, he'll get his shot and at least a month or so of starts to prove himself. If I whisper my wicked marching orders into the ether with no regard to where or how they may bear fruit, I am blameless should a broken spirit carry those orders out upon the innocent, for it was not my hand that took the action merely my lips which let slip their darkest wish. ~Daniel Devereaux 2011

So Cosart is down with something in his elbow, the same one he had a chip removed from in the offseason. This leaves the Padres down 1 in the rotation with No One to help.
They might rush Weaver back, but he's less than a bad option. None of their injured arms are even close to returning. It's possible they recall one of their guys in the system, but the only one I think might not be horrible is Kelly at AA. The Padres have made that call before, but they signed all this driftwood to avoid the exact problem.
Pirela has been killing AAA, so who knows if he'll stick they have a boatload of who really cares kind of players. Keep an eye out because he could stick (just like all the other shit they've thrown at the wall)
Man I cannot wait until 2019............
Late info, apparently Christian Friedrich is throwing a rehab game Thu so he might be in the mix though I'm not sure his rotation slot will match in time............Last edited by GwynnInTheHall; 06-06-2017, 05:40 PM.If I whisper my wicked marching orders into the ether with no regard to where or how they may bear fruit, I am blameless should a broken spirit carry those orders out upon the innocent, for it was not my hand that took the action merely my lips which let slip their darkest wish. ~Daniel Devereaux 2011

He's leading off and killing it right now but he's kinda old without a great track record in the minors. Will he lose playing time when Margot and/or Dickerson come back?
