Pitbulls AL 5x5 Draft - How did I do?

5x5 12 team AL league. I wasn't really happy with my keeper list going into the draft especially with losing Brett Wallace last yr and Cliff Lee during the off-season. I knew that inflation would run high. Adrian G went for $51. I had no corners for the draft so my strategy was to spend money on the corners, get a SS and then grab whatever I could. I also had trouble with auction room as our internet would cut out at times. I missed out on one which I wish I had said not to rollback which was Martin at C. I could have gone $10 or $11 and might have gotten him at that price. * indicates keepers.

We do $264 and include the reserves as part of the draft. I have already offered Callaspo and Johnson for either an MI or OF. Have Sean who plays MI or OF so I can plug one hole there. I'll have to FAAB or get another trade later but everybody has holes on their team. In this league sometimes it's hard to tell coming out of the gate. Go easy on me as I'm a very sensitive guy. :biggrin:

I did a 10-team auction and can't imagine how thin things must get for a 12-teamer. We are doing a 10-round reserve draft and really scraping the bottom.

Your speed looks good and your power is ok. AVG won't be great and those 3 $1 OF are a big hole. Inflation must have been crazy as you really overspent on your good players. You did get Matsui and Ervin for very nice prices.

I don't trust Harden or Duch anymore so try to grab another SP. Especially if Pineda struggles at some point as I don't expect him to stay in the majors all year. Harrison in TEX pitched a gem today.

When you play in an only keeper auction and the competition is not afraid to pay big money for the the stars we have to expect some $1 holes. I think your offense looks competitive. I am not so sure about the pitching. Some question marks. You will have to have things go almost all your way or you will have to do some trading. Good thing trading is fun.

Yeah, those outfielders are a huge hole. You need to find a way to deal Matsui or Dan Johnson and fill that hole. I really don't like Litsch or Ervin and I think they could both blow up your pitching. No saves except maybe Uehara, SPs are shaky after Liriano, so I expect pitching to be a problem. Offense isn't bad but I expect your R/RBI to be mid-pack or lower because of your 3 $1 guys. I do like your MI though.

I think JC might have missed Perez, saves should be ok, enough to keep you in the middle of the pack. The issue is starters, outside of Liriano and Santana alot of gambles. You might look to flip Johnson or Matusi for another starter or OF.
