    That's crazy.

    Even crazier:
since the beginning of the 2021 season (146 IP), his WHIP is 0.574!!!!

Since the beginning of 2020 (214 IP), his WHIP is 0.695.

He has 86 Ks and just 4 BBs this season (21.5 K/BB rate).

5-year 100 million extension for a closer...what could go wrong?

I'm really hoping he gets to screw with the Yankees and at least make an outrageous offer to Aaron Judge.

I have no doubt that he's strongly considering it. Especially if Degrom signs elsewhere.

Though I actually think the Giants are going to come in really strong and Judge may head back home to Cali.

                      • Odds to sign Judge:

                        Yanks 50%
                        Mets 30%
                        Giants 15%
                        Other 5%

                        • Mets not going to seriously pursue Judge.

Bigger question is whether they surrender draft picks to pursue/land Rodon. And of course the DeGrom question.

                          • No QO for Taijuan Walker, which is a huge plus for him.

                              • The payroll tax alone on the 2023 NY Mets, estimated at $60m as of today, will be higher than the payrolls of the Pirates or A's.
