What do Baez and Lindor have to do with this story?

    • I thought it was interesting that a billionaire team owner had a charity event at his mega-estate and invited some star players. and on the same night, the GM who attended seems to have driven away shitfaced.

lol, I'm pretty sure it didn't meet your lofty standards. you seem pretty defensive about the post, which is understable.

I read several articles on Scott and none mentioned which players attended the charity event. Baez and Lindor could have been there or could have not been there.

Maybe Judge read an article with them there but as far as I can tell it business as usual for the Mets.

That they’re smart enough to have someone drive them and their GM is too stupid to do so?

My question was trying to understand why out of all the guests at the event only Lindor and Baez were mentioned. Surely they were specifically mentioned for a reason.

                • Maybe it’s me, but I also find the specific mention of Baez and Lindor odd without additional context. I haven’t seen them mentioned as attendees in other articles either.

On a separate but related note, is it okay to give Scott the two thumbs down? Or should we just boo him?

                            • Jonathan Villar has been, dare I say, en fuego.

                              Since August 5th:
                              .370/.433/.610
                              7 HRs

                              Since August 21st:
                              .440/.530/.750
                              3 HRs

BTW, I really am starting to despise BBHQ projections -- and the fact Rotolab uses them exclusively.

This was the first season I've used Rotolab in-season for pretty much the entire season. The weekly or so updates give you ROS projections. All season long, they had Villar as a big negative dollar figure, meaning their projections were WAAAAAY off for pretty much the entire season. Villar, it should be noted, has 18 HRs, 11 SB and according to Fangraphs, has been worth $21 this season, and BBHQ projections had Villar consistently around -$13. SO they pretty much projected him to be a bench utility bat with little playing time.

A HUGE whiff by BBHQ -- and there were many, many, many others (Dylan Cease & Mitch Moreland come to mind).
