If you have the chance to see Mavis Staples, she is still awesome at 80, and quite funny to boot.

If DMT didn't exist we would have to invent it. There has to be a weirdest thing. Once we have the concept weird, there has to be a weirdest thing. And DMT is simply it.
- Terence McKenna
Bullshit is everywhere. - George Carlin (& Jon Stewart)
How old would you be if you didn't know how old you are? - Satchel Paige

Carlisle is special - I have seen many. many singer songwriters and was blown away by her power - it was a smallish arena (MSG - 15k seats) show but she still filled the place with music. Do NOT miss her if you have the chance

My wife and I were talking about this. She asked me to send my list to her to make up her own list. She was going to take the out the ones that we did not see together and add her's in. She asked me why I left off one of my favs Pink Floyd (twice) and our fairly recent Emmylou Harris...fixed.
He was performing in the round. We bought floor tickets for section 9 row 11 seats 3 and 4. As it turns out we ended up in the front row for two songs. He came down a cat walk and stood right next to Mrs. Gregg 6 feet away. Sang a song from Animals which is also the first album she bought with her own money.
Great night!
