  • Dimensions changing at Rogers Centre

    https://twitter.com/ScottyMitchTSN/status/1616800105431973888?s=20

Per sources, here are the expected new dimensions
RCF alley moving in from 375 to 357(!) feet.
    LCF 375 to 366.CF from 400 to 397.
Lines expected to stay same at 328.

If I'm doing this right, I'm showing 25 batted ball events at Rogers Centre last year that would potentially be different this season https://baseballsavant.mlb.com/statc..._sc=on#results

But the walls are also supposed to be raised by several feet...and the Jays are upping their outfield defense in anticipation, I tried to paste some quotes from an article here, but it's not cooperating with me.
The new outfield at the renovated Rogers Centre, complete with walls that are both angled and of varying heights, is going to play vastly different than the old cookie-cutter fence.

Crazy they went out and got more defensive outfielders but could have kept what they had if they were making these changes

From reading the quotes in th article I liked, it sounds like they expect it to play something like the Green monster, with Balls caroming off the higher walls. I'm getting the sense they think that run production may actually decrease with the new dimensions. Gonna be interesting to see what actually plays out.
