I was on a business trip to Tucson years ago in August and the people there told me that this was monsoon season. I thought they were kidding but they said they were serious. I thought this was very funny but they actually do call their rainy season "monsoon" season. I think it only lasts a few weeks but most of the rain they get happens about this time of year.
