  • Vidal Brujan - What The Hell, Man!

    Vidal Brujan!! So disappointing.

Playing somewhat regularly and doing absolutely nothing. Batting about .125 (7 hits in >50 AB). Has scored 5 runs, which is pretty amazing given how few times he has been on base. But only one SB. One.

Seriously contemplating just cutting him. But he supposedly has 50 SB speed. But sure not seeing it.

Just bad luck or is he simply not good enough for MLB?

So is it crazy to cut him in a keeper league?

Really general question - the specifics matter. In some leagues he's a drop yes.

You said keeper league, what is his contract? What size league? How many do you keep? Who are your other keepers? Is he minor league eligible? How many bench players?

Who are you picking up? Who else could you drop instead?

It's likely that he is droppable since you are asking the question, but in very deep leagues, maybe not.

12 team AL only. We keep 7 major leaguers plus up to 4 minor leaguers. He’s $8 / year 1.

I will likely finish fourth or fifth (breakeven).

12 team only is deep but I dont think an $8 Brujan is worth keeping among your top 7. So you'd treat it like a redraft and drop him. (assuming you have someone better to pick up)

can you put him in your reserve roster and then try to trade him if he starts to get some SB?

No reserves, just DL. Maybe I’ll explore a trade but can’t imagine he has value.

No reserves is a significant point here, he's a drop IMO

Yep, no reserves changes the everything. I agree on the drop.

Brujan is simply being forced into more playing time than he deserves on a 1st division club. He either needs to go back to Durham (and will once Lowe & Franco return) or get traded to a rebuilding team who can afford to let him develop at the big league level. He's been a massive disappointment for the pedigree he came up with vs what I've observed from him at the big league level.
