    • I know I'm way late to the party, but the wife and I have been enjoying binge-watching House of Cards. We're almost done with the third season and although it's not as good as the first two it's still pretty entertaining.

Yeah, also three episodes in and Goliath has been very good.

Just finished Narcos season 2, and damn, it was better than season 1!

Also just finished Luke Cage, and it was great -- probably my favorite Marvel netflix series to date. Next up, Iron Fist.

this is still one of the best shows in the past 2 years - and it is TRUE - and it is about a different ego driven new york real estate developer

              • It has been 25 years since the series was abruptly cancelled in 1991 on the ABC network.
However, a return to the show had been hoped by many after murdered beauty queen Laura Palmer whispered to FBI Agent Dale Cooper (Kyle MacLachlan) that she would see him again in 25 years.
The primetime drama was set in 1989, so it looks like Laura might make good on that promise.
The statement added that series creators and executive producers David Lynch and Mark Frost 'will write and produce all nine episodes of the limited series, and Lynch will direct every episode.'
An update for any Twin Peaks fans ...
It's been over two years since I posted this (wow). I did some googling yesterday - there's a bunch of stuff online about this. Has there ever been a tv series resurrected after 25 years?

18 episodes will air, starting May 21. A huge number of the original cast will be returning (a few have died or retired from acting); plus a bunch of new actors - the Wikipedia page lists 217 (!), including Ashley Judd, Trent Reznor(!), Tim Roth, Amanda Seyfried, Naomi Watts, and Eddie Vedder. Yes, Eddie Vedder will be in the new Twin Peaks season. Angelo Badelamenti is returning to do the soundtrack.

I'm totally stoked. In 1990 I was sharing a townhouse with a friend (actually the two of us started our first rotisserie league in 1987!), and we would make sure we were in the house every Sunday evening, would light up a couple, pop a beer, and spend a hour watching the bizzarro world of FBI Special Agent Dale Cooper & friends. In the late 90's when I was touring around upper Washington state I actually went to the diner & had a cup of coffee & slice of pie.

I'm gonna have to go back & rewatch the original series. David Lynch is on record as stating that the last few days of Laura Palmer's life will be relevant for this season - that was covered in the movies (Fire Walk with Me), not the tv series - so that might require rewatching as well. Pretty cool.
It certainly feels that way. But I'm distrustful of that feeling and am curious about evidence.

                  • if you are at all interested in Twin Peaks, watching "Fire Walk with Me" and reading "The Secret Diary of Laura Palmer" are well worth your time.

I finished Westworld, it too is worth watching, Season 2 of "The Man in the High Castle" is even better than Season 1, and I'm almost done with Season 2 of Hannibal which is excellent food, suit and murder porn

                    • well, it's an ad, but at least it's a baseball ad.

In the best of times, our days are numbered, anyway. And it would be a crime against Nature for any generation to take the world crisis so solemnly that it put off enjoying those things for which we were presumably designed in the first place, and which the gravest statesmen and the hoarsest politicians hope to make available to all men in the end: I mean the opportunity to do good work, to fall in love, to enjoy friends, to sit under trees, to read, to hit a ball and bounce the baby.

                      • Feud on FX is exceelent. I'm extremely impressed with FX's attention to detail on its series, and this is no different.

It's an anthology series, and this season (its first) is based on the feud between Bette Davis and Joan Crawford. The cast is stellar (Jessica Lange as Crawford, and Susan Sarandon as Davis), and Alfred Molina is great as director/producer Robert Aldrich.

                        • Anyone giving 24: Legacy a try? I've been watching it. I have to admit, I miss Jack Bauer.

I'm not feeling this new main character.

                          Good storyline, though.

i have epiphanies like that all the time. for example i was watching a basketball game today and realized pom poms are like a pair of tits. there's 2 of them. they're round. they shake. women play with them. thus instead of having two, cheerleaders have four boobs.

It has to do with a character related to the X-Men. I'm enjoying it though I admit it's pretty out there.
