counter offer subs out AWood for Pollock

last 31 days, he is hitting a ridiculous .433 in 90 AB, with 5-14-15-4
    that's a 540-AB pace of .433 AVG with 30-84-90-24
    slash line of .475/.711/1.186
xBA is .338 - don't remember when I have seen one that high for a month

    AJ is KILLING IT
    so I have him for $17 in NL-only 11-team 5x5, as I dump
paid out $20 last year, so far $22 this year even with injuries

Pollock turns 34 in December, but at his best/healthy, he is the sort of elite hitter that has more staying power than mere mortals
BUT has only reached 500 PA once (in 2015), although he was on pace for that last year, too, easily

getting nibbles. is this a 'sell high' or at $17 or is this a 2022 keeper play?
finished 10th in this 37th yr in 11-team-only NL 5x5
    own picks 1, 2, 5, 6, 9 in April 2022 1st-rd farmhand draft
    won in 2017 15 07 05 04 02 93 90 84

    SP SGray 16, TWalker 10, AWood 10, Price 3, KH Kim 2, Corbin 10
    RP Bednar 10, Bender 10, Graterol 2
    C Stallings 2, Casali 1
    1B Votto 10, 3B ERios 2, 1B Zimmerman 2, 2S Chisholm 5, 2B Hoerner 5, 2B Solano 2, 2B LGarcia 10, SS Gregorius 17
    OF Cain 14, Bader 1, Daza 1

I'd be inclined to sell high on Pollock, though I'd expect a decent return.
I'm just here for the baseball.

I'm all over the place at this point!

sold Carrasco 16 and Pollock 17 for a FIFTH April 2022 farm pick (and Zimmerman 2).
will get first farm pick UNLESS three of my mid-pack farm picks finish in the top 5

well, the trade deadline came and went with no further trades (by anybody)

2 waiver moves left after claiming Bender and Corbin this week, and will save one of them for some possible paperwork bungle by a rival in late September. will bring back Kim, Hoerner, and Daza from IL soon.

          player, 2022 price/HQ current value
          SP SGray 16/3, TWalker 10/8, AWood 10/9, Corbin 10/-10, Price 3/1, Kim 2/6
REVIEW: SGray has a 3.58 xERA in 98 injury-riddled IP (and 1 H in 7 IP tonight). TWalker ran out of gas. AWood at value. Corbin showing slight, slight signs of life. Price would have to have his leash loosened. KKim on IL. Fellas, none of you are guaranteed a spot on a spring 2022 11-man keeper roster.

          RP Bednar 10, Bender 10, Knebel 10, Graterol 2.
REVIEW: No point in listing values - it's "you're a closer to open 2022, or bust" except for a cheap Graterol, who still intrigues.

          INF
          C Stallings 2/4, C Casali 1/1, 1B Votto 10/23, 1B Zimmerman 2/4, 3B ERios 2/-6, 2B Solano 2/8, 2B Hoerner 5/5, 2B-SS Chisholm 5/18, 2B LGarcia 10/-2, SS Gregorius 17/6
REVIEW: VOTTO!!! CHISHOLM!! Solano. Hoerner. Stallings? this is pretty good.

          OF Cain 14/9 (2 SB tonight!), Brinson 10/4, Bader 1/10, Daza 1/8
REVIEW: BADER!! Daza. this is not so good.

OVERALL: Not as good as you'd like to see from a rebuilding team, for sure. BUT....

FARM (with mid-August mlb.com updated top 100 rank in parentheses)
SS Luciano (5), OF CCarroll (21), 3B Baty (49), OF Mateo (84), OF HRamos (87), SP BMarquez (94), 2B McLain (98), SP Rocker
REVIEW: LOADED WITH HITTERS!!!!! - and two huge question marks at P.

          FARM ETAs per mlb.com
          2021 - Ramos (um.....)
          2022 - Baty, Marquez
2023 - Luciano, Carroll, Mateo, McLain

          APRIL FARM PICKS
have FIVE of the 11 first-rounders
with a league draft order of final standings of 6-7-8-9-10-11-5-4-3-2-1
my picks currently check in at 2-5-6-7-8, but I have 3 picks that could possibly leave me at 1-2-3-4-8 if things break perfectly.
only 8 farm slots, so I'll be dealing (just have my own June pick, so may kick a can down the road as well as try for a 2-or-3-for-1)

already have spent an all-time league record of 135 bucks already and may finish close to 150.

parts of this were fun, I hope I learned something from my mistakes, and this is my first time ever with a loaded farm crop (a couple of these guys likely will be the most elite picks I have ever retained in 30+ years).

Barring a serious injury, I'd be keeping TWalker even if he doesn't do well the remainder of the year. Like you said, he sure seemed to run out of gas or hit a dead arm period.

And the implosion happened right after pitching in Coors during the All-Star game. He looked good in his two recent home starts.

EDITED TO ADD: Scratch what I said about Walker looking good at home...I jinxed him.
