And the Ravens-Cowboys game scheduled for next Thursday (week 13) could be in jeopardy as well. Week 19?

The Ravens' practice facility supposedly now is closed until Monday, so very doubtful that the game will be played on Sunday. Which creates a problematic situation for the NFL. If this game is not made up somehow, suppose there are 4 wildcard-candidate teams in the AFC that finish w the same record? That could conceivably happen: Raiders, Dolphins, Browns and whoever doesnt win the division between the Colts and Titans could all finish 10-6. If the Ravens finish 10-5, they would get the 1st wildcard. But if they would have played the Pittsburgh game and lost, they would have been in a tie w those other teams and the 2 wildcards would be determined by the tiebreak rules. By not playing the Steelers, the Ravens would have an advantage over the other teams so it's pretty unfair to the other teams. Similar situation even if there are only 3 or 2 wildcard teams w the same record. I've heard that the NFL may expand the playoffs to 8 teams in each conference for that reason. Even w/o the wildcard teams ending up tied, because the Steelers very well may have lost that game to the Ravens makes it unfair to Kansas City who are trying to catch Pittsburgh for the #1 seed.

Re: the guy responsible for the outbreak on the Ravens, reportedly the strength and conditioning coach, I think he has to be fired. I dont see any other valid choice. This bozo openly defied the CV-19 protocols and has jeopardized not only the fate of the team this season but also the health and potentially lives of the players. No way he keeps any job w the team if I'm in charge. They can soft-pedal the firing, just say "The individual believed to be responsible has been disciplined and that the matter has been put to rest internally" and refuse to comment further. Maybe in the off-season you can say something like "The team has decided to explore other options for their strength and conditioning coaching position".

yes, the NFL decided over a month ago that they would add an 8th team in each conference if everyone can't play 16 games.

it's true that the AFC has nine teams that can fog a mirror at this point. but all teams have known for quite some time of the possibilities.

if two teams are 8-7 and one gets left out, I'm going to mute their whining, if any. shoulda played better, fellas, and last year they only invited the top 6.

The NFL informed clubs all in-person team activities will be prohibited this coming Monday and Tuesday — a mitigation measure in light of rising COVID-19 positivity rates across the country and many players and staff having guests for Thanksgiving. The ban doesn’t include games.
