  • Crazy Harden stat

Five games, 261 points, none of them assisted.

Harden's 61-point game gave him 21 consecutive games with at least 30 points, passing Wilt Chamberlain for the fourth-longest streak in NBA history. Harden still trails three different Chamberlain streaks, including the record-setting 65-game run Chamberlain put up in 1961-62 -- the season he averaged an NBA record 50.4 points per game.

Amazingly, Harden continues to do all this on his own. Wednesday night was the fifth consecutive game in which all of his points came without the benefit of an assist, a span of 261 points. His last assisted basket came on Jan. 13, off a pass from Clint Capela. In that run, Harden has recorded games of 57, 58, and 61 points. No other player in the past 20 seasons has scored more than 53 points without the benefit of an assist. Harden's 261 points over his past five games are the second-most by any player in a five-game span over the past 50 seasons behind Bryant's 268 from March 16-25, 2007.
The reigning MVP took some time extending his 30-point scoring streak Friday night, but he had another strong night against one of the league's best teams.

Whoa. Chris Paul presumably returns this week to help the Beard get an assisted bucket, lol.

Chamberlain's 50.4 points per game is impressive, but I really like another one of his that year.
he averaged more than 48 minutes per game.

NBA games are..... 48 minutes. Wilt played every minute of every game that season, including overtime - except for the one where he got ejected.

Wilt never fouled out in his entire career, btw.

I'm looking forward to seeing what the Raptors can do to try to contain him tonight.
It certainly feels that way. But I'm distrustful of that feeling and am curious about evidence.

        He's a human cheat code.

James Harden extended his streak of 30-point games to 27 Monday, as he scored 44 points (15-of-26 FGs, 9-of-11 FTs) with eight rebounds, six assists, three steals, one blocked shot and five 3-pointers in 38 minutes.

The Suns had no answer for Harden, which isn’t much of a surprise given what the reigning MVP has done over the last couple of months. In addition to extending his streak of 30-point games, Monday’s effort was also Harden’s 20th 40-point game this season. By comparison he had 11 40-point games all of last season. Over his last five The Beard is averaging 38.8 points, 9.6 rebounds, 6.4 assists, 3.2 steals, 2.0 blocks and 5.2 three-pointers per game while shooting 47.7% from the field, 37.7% from three and 85.2% from the foul line.
