    Democratic Socialist Takeover

I'm so happy to see both the centrist Democrats and the entire Right Wing crapping their pants at the idea of a democratic socialist influence on a large scale. I absolutely love it. I hope GITH chimes in here at some point.

It's all so much free advertisement, which is exactly what was given to Trump the last election cycle. Shock and outrage, and "But VENEZUELA!!!" from the right, and "but how will you pay for it?!" from the centrists... you're all doing such a great job. I love it.

When I saw CBB change his avatar from his wife's bikini shot to an Ocasio-Cortez meme... it really has given me so much joy. Now seeing chancellor change his signature to a comment on socialism... I really just cant thank you guys enough for revealing your insecurities so clearly. You guys are some of the main voices from the right that I read on a regular basis, so it's been inspiring. I genuinely thank you both.

We shall continue to monitor some of the key races... Kaniela Ing in Hawaii needs to beat a corporate Dem named Ed Case... Brent Welder needs to win in Kansas... maybe O-C is a one-off, but I dont think so.

Glad I can help. I can't think of anything that'll help Trump and/or mainline GOP candidates win more than the Dems going much further left.

I love that we can find common ground on something. I still dont follow your logic that a populist left candidate is somehow worse for the Dems Hope's than trotting out another Hillary clone... but I'm glad we are fighting towards the same goal, albeit with different intentions.

So you are saying you want Trump and/or a mainline GOP candidate?
It is wrong and ultimately self-defeating for a nation of immigrants to permit the kind of abuse of our immigration laws we have seen in recent years and we must stop it.

I go after Teenwolf a lot, but have to defend him here. While I think a hard left candidate plays better for the GOP, it's possible that a charismatic hard left candidate will have a better chance of winning than, say, Joe Biden. And Teenwolf believes that a hard leftist type candidate will fare well. I believe he's wrong, but let's not claim he wants Trump or someone like Pence as president.

How did you come to that conclusion??????

I see Chance saying he is glad that things the Dems are running the far left side as it will help Trump and the Mainline GOP. I see TW agreeing with him.

Thanks, and I totally agree on Biden vs. Sanders in 2020. I believe Bernie Sanders would have crushed Trump in 2016, and I believe the best chance to take back the WH, regardless of opponent, Trump, Pence, whoever, is for the democratic party to embrace the populist messaging of the social Democrat wing.

I also believe that CBB and chance are 100% correct in their assessment that the social dems are taking over the democratic party base. We just disagree on the effectiveness of that shift to the left in terms of turning out voters.

Nancy Pelosi talks about ending the corruption of the Republicans out one side of her mouth, and about how she's such a great fundraiser out of the other side... I think that's the real losing strategy. We've got a couple of years to watch it all play out. Having a true progressive caucus after midterms should help a lot.

If CBB and chance are echoing the widespread panic on the right wing (and mainstream media) about how terrible the social democratic agenda is, and they're doing the work of detailing these scary, awful, communist platforms... then hell yeah I support that. Giving a voice to the social dem platform is more than CNN was willing to do in 2016 when they were covering empty Trump podiums instead of Sanders rallies, etc. So yeah, I'm very very happy about the chatter, but I disagree on what the outcome will be.

Look at this quote from a recent Daily Caller article that illustrates my point:

I mean, they talk about things that everybody wants, especially like if you are a parent. They talk about education for your kids, healthcare for your kids. The things that you want. And if you're not really paying attention to how they're going to pay for it or the rest of that, it's easy to fall into that trap and say, my kids deserve this.
I think this unintentionally helps the Sanders wing BIGLY, just as the anti-Trump bluster ended up helping him in the last election cycle.

Moving further Left may help the party by growing younger. However, it will alienate a large number of the more centrist left - which may actually make the right larger. Alienating your base is never a solid strategy.
