and there are definitely big questions as to who this mystery president candidate would be.
I'm curious... do you think the leading Dem 2020 candidates are making a mistake by trying outflank Sanders on the left? Pushing to end money in politics, Medicare for all, abolishing ICE (only Gillibrand calling for this)... you think these radical positions will hurt the Dems?

I was recently shocked to see Kirsten Gillibrand shift so far to the left... I just wonder if the Dems are better with a longtime hardcore social Democrat like Bernie, or more of a recent convert.

As a Gore supporter, why are you joyful about Democrats losing? Bizarre
If DMT didn't exist we would have to invent it. There has to be a weirdest thing. Once we have the concept weird, there has to be a weirdest thing. And DMT is simply it.

Are you a Trump supporter or just a Conservative?

Do you think a 2000 mainstream democrat has similar positions to the direction the party is going right now?

neither. If democrats took a hard right and became center-left, I'd consider voting for them. I never liked Trump at all, I just like him better than the alternative.

Just so we are all clear - there is nothing Democratic about Socialism.

If your Democracy fails and the citizens cede their rights to a Socialist form of government that may be considered the democratic process. Everything after that is Socialist and the government gets to decide for you what you do or dont get. Welcome to Russia....... and communism.
It is wrong and ultimately self-defeating for a nation of immigrants to permit the kind of abuse of our immigration laws we have seen in recent years and we must stop it.

Show me WHO is going to beat Trump? Who? The guy smashed an entire field of 16 GOP and then defeated the media, Hillary Clinton and the system and today you are talking about HOW LIBERAL can we go to win an election? Centrist, radical, blah blah blah. Set your sights on '24. Trump is no one-term President.

                No one is beating Trump.

                Tell me who?

Yeah, your democracy isnt holding up so well, but being below 40% approval isnt exactly crushing it. He's already printing up Trump 2020 campaign merch in China that uses the slogan "Keep America Great!"... it's so dumb. I dont believe he can overcome any Democrat on policy now that he has a legislative record. I believe inspiring people by focusing on positive policy rather than anti-Trump rhetoric is a better strategy. I'm happy we'll see a wide open field for 2020. I still support Bernie Sanders, but if Gillibrand moves far enough left, I could consider her over Sanders. Gillibrand is also charming and comes across as genuine. If the Sanders hate machine has crippled Bernie to the point of hurting his chance of winning, I could shift support, but I believe he's the best shot to win because of his appeal to non-voters over any other single candidate you could name, and it isnt close.

If the Dems pull the strings to deny Bernie a shot on the ballot, and the rest of the field pushes back to the center... you deserve another 4 years of Trump.

So Bernie is going to beat him this time? Couldn't win in an open contest but Bernie will now knock off an incumbent?

                    Bernie - No
                    Booker - NO
                    Clinton - No
                    Warren - No
Gabbard - More interesting, still no.
                    Biden - LOL no
                    O'Malley - NO

Bernie is incredibly popular. It took a lot of work for Hillary to hold him off last time, he won 22 states despite very little mainstream media coverage... yeah, I think he's primed to crush the field in 2020, and take the WH...

Just my radical speculation, but I see a field of 10 candidates that will split their votes trying and failing to match Sanders on how far left they push their policy agendas. I think if Biden stays in till the end, Bernie locks it up knocking down the "too old" criticism... just my crystal ball speculation. Glad this forum and thread will exist to look back on!!! Thanks again, Revo!

Isnt that how we got there in the first place? And lets not call it pulling strings - lets call it what it was colluding to ensure one person won the primary.

EDIT: to be specific, Bernie was on the ballot in 2016... if the party decides he isnt a loyal Democrat in good standing and denies him a place in the Dem primary... then eff the party, burn it down, 4 more yrs, run as 3rd party, who cares, whatever... its suicide to attempt to rig the primary again, so i hope they dont.

I accept it and I'm not bitter, and I also believe blaming progressives who didn't step in line to vote for Hillary is an excuse for their own poor judgment.

The DCCC got rid a lot of the superdelegates as well, so I'm hopeful there's less tipping the scales.

                                LOLOLOLOL... I love it.

Canada is another country with a mixed market, we just have the damn common sense to take profit motives out of our health care and prison systems...

If the US enacted democratic socialist policies, given the relative economies, would the US begin to more closely resemble Canada, or Venezuela? The answer should be obvious but you aren't interested in honest debate, only scare tactics. But when the media does what you're doing now.... I just love it. Unintentional free advertising. Brilliant.
