Actually it is liberals who do not want to debate. They would rather call you names. Personally, even as a conservative, I am not in favor of abolishing abortion. As far as I know abortion is not being abolished everywhere, just put into the states hands.

My original comment about AOC is that I sure hope she is never considered presidential.

True, but those red states are abolishing it. And now they're passing laws that won't even allow a citizen to get the procedure done in other states. That's like The Handmaid's Tale. May as well put up a wall like East Berlin.

I do not have strong opinions on abortion, but that does not sound good to me. A person should be able to to go to another state to get an abortion, so yes, that is bad if true. I cannot see any state being able to prevent that, but I could be wrong.

So you're fine with draconian decisions that will kill pregnant women because you care more about states rights than human rights?

Abolishing abortion federally is something you don't support, yet the Republicans are pushing for a federal abortion ban. Would you end your support of the Republican party upon a federal abortion ban being enacted? Square the circle for me.

Thanks for responding. I retract my coward comment.

When Republicans across the board are calling all LGBTQ people "groomers", you don't have much of a leg to stand on regarding name-calling. The difference is that the name calling from the right is pushing for Christo-fascism, vs the left pushing for human rights. Pretty important difference.
Larry David was once being heckled, long before any success. Heckler says "I'm taking my dog over to fuck your mother, weekly." Larry responds "I hate to tell you this, but your dog isn't liking it."

No, I am not fine with decisions that cause pregnant women to die. I said I am for allowing abortions, even if I personally pro-life. I am not for dictating what women do to their body. As for your other question about support of the Republican party, I am still in favor of most republican principles, but not all of them. I voted for Obama in his first election. I do not automatically just vote the party line.

Did you vote for Trump? You mentioned AOC is not presidential. If you voted for Trump, what made him presidential to you?

Of course I voted for Trump over Hillary. As for presidential, yes, he was not presidential in a LOT of ways, but I preferred his policies over the guy in office right now and the economy was not going into the crapper. I am not an expert on the economy, but I do know that my 403b has lost 60K since the ancient one took office.

Question: Why when I use an apostrophe or quotes in a word it screws up the text? I seem to be able to correct it by going into the advanced editor and replacing the apostrophies and quotes.

I love ya, buddy, but this is a silly debate. Who cares which candidate is "more presidential"? This is why you're stuck with a piece of shit like Biden! People kept telling me "he's a good person who wants to do good by the country", and meaningless drivel like that while I was focusing on the problem with his actual stances on all the important issues. Now we've seen what a disaster it is to have a bi-partisan deal-maker as POTUS.

Engage right wingers on the actual policies. They can't possibly defend their fascist death cult for it's policies. They're winning based on culture war propaganda, that's it. Look at Roy's surface level complaints about Biden "the ancient one" (who's 3.5 whole years older than Trump). "look at my 403b losing money"... as if the US economy is completely controlled by Biden, as if inflation isn't ravaging Canada just as badly as the US. It's ridiculous. They're never going to admit to being wrong based on who's "more presidential", so it's merely a distraction from real issues.

I have friends that voted for Trump in 2016 because of he was better for the economy or he was not part of political crowd in Washington or for the rights to own guns etc. It was never that he was the right man for the job but most if not all couldn't bear Hilary getting elected. My son told me before the election that he had a real chance of getting elected and his presidency would divide the US and send us on a path that we may not recover from.

From that point on I read every article I could find on Trump. The man represent everything that that bad or wrong with this society. He does not have the best interest of this country and only out for #1 himself. It is voters like yourself that enable him to feed his ego. If I were raising a child (they are all grown) I would never point to Trump and say "Now there a person you should aspire to become." Maybe you would have not lost 60k if Trump had been reelected or maybe it would have been the same result but what I do know is Trump has a corrupted soul that could compete with the worst that humanity has to show. And that is pure evil.

Do you support Republicans attacks on LGBTQ people in the military, on gay marriage, including smearing all gay people with the term "groomers"?

Do you support attacking trans youth, who have the highest rates of suicide among any minority group?

Do you support eliminating gun restrictions that has led to guns becoming the leading cause of death for children?

Do you support the attack on CRT, which has lead to Republicans banning teachers from discussing basic facts of American history?

Do you support the Republican attacks on the 1st amendment of the US Constitution, attempting to end the separation of church and state?

Do you support Republican attempts to limit access to voting in every way possible, forcing people to wait 4-8 hours in line just to cast a ballot?

Is your support for Republicans entirely based on your perception that they're "better for the economy"?

Do you not think Trump's tax cut giveaway to the ultra-rich would have a much bigger impact on the current economy than anything Biden has or hasn't done in his first 1.5 years in office? Could you point to a single thing that Biden HAS done that would lead you to believe he tanked the economy, or is it just based on feelings and Republican bluster?

Do you support eliminating gun restrictions that has led to guns becoming the leading cause of death for children? I believe their should be a higher age limit for obtaining guns and more thourough background check. I also do not see a reason for owning certain assault rifles. But at the end of the day, I do not believe in taking guns away from innocent people, because the criminals are not giving up theirs.

High School coaches should be able to pray before a game and not get fired.
Do you support Republican attempts to limit access to voting in every way possible, forcing people to wait 4-8 hours in line just to cast a ballot? I believe an ID should be required for something as important as voting. We need them to drive and many other things. Is your support for Republicans entirely based on your perception that they're "better for the economy"? Not an expert on the economy but gas was not $6 a gallon when Trump was President and I was 60K richer for my 403b.

It is hard for me to believe you excuse Biden for the economy. I do not believe most Americans do, so that is all I will say about that.
All Dem talking points as usual and misguided. We are never going to agree on some things, so it is moot to argue about it. Just accept there are others that believe differently than you do and I sure as hell am not going to try and change your mind. I have said my bit, so I am out of this.

                        • This Financial Times article about Gen Z and millennial voting was really pleasantly surprising. Perhaps the far-left takeover isn't actually that far away.

In fact, they’re more like 15 points less conservative, and in both Britain and the US are by far the least conservative 35-year-olds in recorded history.
                          Awesome.

So the most likely explanation is a cohort effect — that millennials have developed different values to previous generations, shaped by experiences unique to them, and they do not feel conservatives share these.

This is borne out by US survey data showing that, having reached political maturity in the aftermath of the global financial crisis, millennials are tacking much further to the left on economics than previous generations did, favouring greater redistribution from rich to poor.
