    Fuck that guy.

New rule in our house, any mention of his name after Biden's inauguration requires $1 into the swear jar.
If DMT didn't exist we would have to invent it. There has to be a weirdest thing. Once we have the concept weird, there has to be a weirdest thing. And DMT is simply it.

He is known by other names.

Fuck that guy. I'm thankful not just to see this guy, the most dishonest and stupid person ever to have fallen into executive office, go down as a pariah. I'm also thankful that his cast of incompetent villains are also leaving: Betsy DeVos, Ajit Pai, his idiot children, the neverending line of liars as Press Secretary, Steven Miller, Jason Miller, the emboldened racists and Nazis and Confederate loving losers, worthless Melania Trump and her idiotic Be Best / I Don't Care self, cozying up to dictators, vilifying and alienating our allies, and the constant constant constant stream of vicious lies and attacks. Fuck all of them. Worst President of all time. We will be recovering from his nightmare administration for a long time to come.

There’s a small part of me that wanted to see Twitter wait until today to ban him because of the epic meltdown he would have been having this morning on Twitter. But if I never hear from him again, that would also be acceptable.

I agree. His tweets were like meth--you knew you shouldn't read them, but it was hard to stop. It would have been fun to hate read his melt down, but it was for the greater good for our country that his noxious lies and fury did not have such a large forum. We have seen the results of them. Not everyone gets they are the rantings of a pathetic loser with no mooring in reality. I get the arguments for not censuring him, but ultimately, I think curbing his campaign of disinformation and instigation of violence was the right thing for those companies to do, and were really long overdue.

China doesn't take too long to say fuck you to Trump's people:

                      https://www.globaltimes.cn/page/202101/1213458.shtml

China has decided to sanction 28 persons who have seriously violated China's sovereignty and who have been mainly responsible for such U.S. moves on China-related issues. They include Michael R. Pompeo, Peter K. Navarro, Robert C. O'Brien, David R. Stilwell, Matthew Pottinger, Alex M. Azar II, Keith J. Krach, and Kelly D. K. Craft of the Trump administration as well as John R. Bolton and Stephen K. Bannon. These individuals and their immediate family members are prohibited from entering the mainland, Hong Kong and Macao of China. They and companies and institutions associated with them are also restricted from doing business with China.
That last part is going to make it hard to find a big corporate job...

i have epiphanies like that all the time. for example i was watching a basketball game today and realized pom poms are like a pair of tits. there's 2 of them. they're round. they shake. women play with them. thus instead of having two, cheerleaders have four boobs.

And yet, at least 65M of our fellow Americans would gladly vote for him again.

ETA: Fortunately that's nowhere near as many as who'd vote against him.

Trump's rise and how close he came in pulling this country down into fascism will become, I hope, a good wake up call to how these things happen. When I was a kid and I read about the rise of fascism in Germany and Italy, I shook my head at THOSE people, and I knew it could never happen here. As I aged, I realized that people are people and despite the jingoist patriotism and nationalism we revel in, especially on the right, there is nothing at all special about the American people. It is our ideals that are special, and if we stray from them, we are capable of the worst that people anywhere at any time have done. And we do stray from those ideals, far too often. Trump took us further down that path than we have ever been. I am hoping it will act like a near miss car accident and we will be more diligent and not only try to go back to the status quo, but realize how far from our own ideals were were, even in the best of times.

ETA: It is a fundamental difference between Trump and his ilk and those that I think can truly make America a greater nation that they want to deny our past sins, and pretend we USED to be perfect and we can again by returning to the past, and those who truly want to make us greater want to acknowledge them, learn from them, and heal old wounds and form a better future based on knowledge and adaptation from past mistakes.

Any Nazi groups marching in support of Biden’s victory today? Because my right wing sources assure me that’s it’s actually the Democrats who are in league with the Nazis...
