  • You guys can skip me for now. I'll make my picks in the morning.

    • Going Dutch again, this group did some proggy stuff in the early 70s, but this one is more of a pop LP. Not typically my style, but the vocals are really good and it's a good mellow alternative to most of my music.

21st pick 2 - Phantom of the Night - Kayak

Lead cut from this LP. The link should take you to a group of Kayak tunes, with four of them off this LP.

I'm just here for the baseball.

        • Blondie in their pre-disco 50's inspired electro-surf-pop days ... I thought this is the record Bucky was referring to when he said about a "different Blondie record".

          21.08 Blondie - Blondie (1976)

There are some great cheesy early Blondie clips out there

Really, Empire Strikes Back is my favorite score of the originally trilogy, but who doesn't know that Opening Theme? Geek anthem!

                      • Alright, I think I'm ready:

21.02 Lola Versus the Powerman and the Moneyground, Part One (1970)

I'm actually not a huge fan of "Lola" but the rest of this album is pretty killer. Apparently the band was extra-pissed at the record industry at the time so there's a lot of vitriol in these songs.

                        • 22.02 Rides Again - James Gang (1970)

The lead track is the only hit (and one of my all-time guitar-playing favorites), but there's some rockin' grooves in the first half and some more varied compositions on the second half.

                            • 21.09 Sheet Music - 10cc (1974)

The very underrated 10cc has to be in any 70s draft, and this was arguably their best one. Loads of great hooks and riffs, great singing, all very clever and droll... but a little too clever and droll at times.

Pat Benatar ripped off the riff from "Silly Love". But did 10cc rip it off of Sabbath?

Completely badass for early 1977. Have to drive my daughter to school, bye.
