Adding Peter Gabriel to the list from Saturday night. He was in excellent voice and his band was insane!

I went for Mrs. Gregg as she is a huge fan. As for myself not my favorite. But I have to say I enjoyed myself more than I expected.

Ayanna Witter-Johnson Cello and singer almost stole the show on Don't Give Up. I liked their duet better than the original with Kate Bush. I think it was my favorite song of the night. The most fun was Solsbury Hill. I appreciated the Peter Gabriel is still making new music after all these years. This concert certainly wasn't a money grab.

If you are Peter Gabriel fan I think you will love this tour.

      • Added Rancid, Queens of the Stoneage and GnR last weekend. Outdoor festival here in Sac. My nephew was playing earlier in the day and got us in.

Axl's voice was rough. Pretty much gone. I wasn't sure he was going to make it through the first song, but they ended up doing 29 songs and playing for close to 3 hours! Slash is still amazing, and Axl picked his spots to hit old notes. It was a fun night.

Joni Mitchell - she was touring with Dylan (94 or 95) and decided to sing all her classics in this annoying jazz style that she'd adopted in her most recent album. And she cut off one of her songs right in the middle. And her sound technicians managed to create an aggravating echo effect in the stadium.

Tori Amos (2003 or 2004) - I've seen her 3 times but the last time she was touring with Ben Folds and I actually fell asleep during her set. Strangely enough, I met someone a couple months ago who was at that same show who claimed she nearly fell asleep too.

Thievery Corporation (2001) - Their sound was terrible and rather than integrate the various singers continuously throughout their songs, they trotted each one out separately and it completely ruined it for me. My friend felt the same which led to some interesting discussions between he and his partner, who was out of town but had raved about them being the best live act he'd ever seen.
Can add Van Morrison right to the top. He was truly terrible and only there for the paycheck. Left in the middle of a song and just never returned to the stage. Played "Moondance" but rather than sing it the vibraphonist played the melody.

            • Looks like Hall & Oates won't be performing together again. Daryl Hall has filed a lawsuit against his former musical partner John Oates, claiming some form of breach of contract. Hall also got a restraining order against Oates. Hall was reported to have said "I can't go for that."

I don't know if it was just a bad night, but when we saw them last, a year ago, Hall's voice was cooked. I don't really need to see them again.

Navigated the nuances of VB's search function and found my way through your post history of only trending topics. You added more in subsequent posts. I'm not compiling all that shit for you.

Yea, it would probably be easier to list the bands that I'd like to see but haven't yet. Tops on the list of artists I want to see: David Bowie, Arcade Fire.

But what the hell. I'm sure I will be adding lots more as they pop into my head.

1st show: MC Hammer (I was in 8th grade, and my friend's mom was a news anchor and got us free tickets)
