In my mail today I received a letter from a bank that I haven't dealt with in years ... addressed to me & my ex-wife. We separated 11 years ago, and divorced a couple of years after that. It was a notice of an nsf cheque.
Several years ago I discovered that she was still using our joint account. I communicated with her by email then - I threatened to close the account, but she said that she'd take care of it. Stupid me, I took her at her word & didn't follow up.
I emailed her this evening & let her know clearly that she had to close the acct or I will on the weekend. She responds apologetically that she's going away on Thursday & won't be able to take care of this until later in the month, and asks if that's okay.
I have a bit of a soft spot as she had cancer last year, but she's now over it. But no way ...
crazy.
