    Ethel Kennedy, a human rights advocate, widow of the late Democratic icon Robert F. Kennedy and matriarch of America's most famous political family, died Thursday morning after complications from a stroke she suffered earlier in the week. She was 96.​ RIP.

    Cissy Houston, Grammy-winning gospel singer and mother of Whitney Houston has died at age 91. RIP.

    After watching this video, I may never listen to the Willie Nelson version of this song again. Wow !

    I remember seeing this as a kid. Loved watching him play. RiP.

    Jazz saxophonist and composer, Benny Golson, died on Sep 21. He wrote several popular jazz tunes, including "Killer Joe" which became a crossover hit in the 1960's. I was fortunate enough to have seen him in concert in the late 1980's. He was 95 y/o. RIP.

    Former NFL running back, Mercury Morris died on Sep 21. He was on the Miami Dolphins when they won back to back Super Bowls in 1973 and 1974, including the undefeated team of 1972-73. He was 77 y/o. RIP.

    Dame Maggie Smith, British actress known for the Harry Potter films and Downton Abbey, has died at the age of 89. RIP.

    She won two Oscars during her career - for The Prime of Miss Jean Brodie in 1970 and California Suite in 1979.

    I just learned that singer, guitarist and actress Catarina Valente died on 9/9. She appeared many times on American TV, including the Ed Sullivan Show and Dean Martin Show, and made many albums in English and in other languages. She also appeared in several films. She was 93 y/o. RIP.

    Below is a live recording she made w Sergio Mendes, who pre-deceased her by only 3 days, for her TV show she had for a while in Italy:
