The sneaker and sports apparel market has a unique demographic and Nike obviously knows it. It's not that conservatives and blue collar whites in the heartland don't buy sneakers and sports apparel, but they don't prize and collect the highest end stuff with the biggest profit margins, where brand loyalty presumably makes the biggest difference.
