So what is it about Tebow that is so polarizing? Is it his openness about his faith? Is it the popularity despite not having earned anything in the NFL yet? What makes so many love him, so many hate him and oh so many be fascinated by the Tebow phenomenon?

What is it about that name?
After former Broncos quarterback Brian Griese sprained his ankle and said he was tripped on the stairs of his home by his golden retriever, Bella: “The dog stood up on his hind legs and gave him a push? You might want to get rid of that dog, or put him in the circus, one of the two.”Tags: None

Lots of athletes are open about their faith. I think the backlash has more to do with the media coverage (that started in college) that made him out to be the second coming of Jesus. Plus the sense that if it were not for the "brand" that resulted from said coverage, he would be a backup, playing a different position, or playing in the CFL or AFL.Originally posted by Kevin SeitzerWe pinch ran for Altuve specifically to screw over Mith's fantasy team.

Religion and politics, both of which, in a perfect world, should have very little to do with sports.
a) Since he's an outspoken Christian, he's loved by Conservatives. Which means he's disliked by Liberals. That's probably good for half the hatred.
b) that Super Bowl commercial.
c) for football fans like myself who don't care about the religious aspect of the Tebow debate, he was likely drafted in the first round due to factors outside of football talents; and has twice been given a job he hasn't earned, due mainly to the pressures of his religious-belief driven popularity.
d) He's been awful in this chance he's been given, and any other QB would have been benched already.

So what of the charade that Tebow was "wildly outplayed" in the pre-season by Orton AND Brady Quinn? Tebow was the #3 QB -- why didn't Quinn get a chance first, as he was listed ahead of Tebow? Quinn was also a former 1st round pick and is still relatively young (just 27).

B- Orton did a decent job early on but was brutal in the second half in 10 and all of 11. You dont blame him for falling apart? He must not have had a sack because he wasnt getting ripped nearly as bad as Tebow does yet Tebow seems to handle it okay. Are you saying Orton didnt deserve to be benched? Wasnt Tebow the logical choice seeing as how he is the only one under contract after this year? After former Broncos quarterback Brian Griese sprained his ankle and said he was tripped on the stairs of his home by his golden retriever, Bella: “The dog stood up on his hind legs and gave him a push? Then theres the record of the 2 QBS in 10-11 combined
Orton 4-14
Tebow 3-3
Are there points for style? After former Broncos quarterback Brian Griese sprained his ankle and said he was tripped on the stairs of his home by his golden retriever, Bella: “The dog stood up on his hind legs and gave him a push? b) Orton was not brutal in the second half of 2010 -- check the game logs. He was playing at an All-Pro level until as late as Week 11 (20 TDs, 6 INTs) but then did have a brutal two games, culminating in a horrendous defeat to the Cardinals where he tossed 3 picks as they got crushed 43-13. Did he deserve to be benched after two bad games? That's doubtful, but they did want to see what they have -- and this was Denver's old management, so it was especially important to them. They used two bad games as an excuse to remove Orton.
For this year, yes, Orton was terrible and they were losing, so why not replace him -- especially if what CG says is true, that Mile High was becoming a ghost town. Makes good business sense to try and market the team's most popular player, sure. And that's the point, no? That Tebow was put in there less about the fact that he was the only QB under contract for '12, but more about the fact they knew they could re-ignite interest in the team. And that's the debate -- that he didn't earn the gig, he was handed it due to his popularity.

b- In the first half of 2010 Orton was okay but he went downhill fast. He got hurt and the Broncos, like many other teams who draft a QB in the first round, wanted to see what they had in Tebow. I dont think anyone can argue the merits of that. In 2k11, the job was given to Orton and he flat out sucked all year. Media pressure? No McDaniels? Tebow looming? I dont know but he was turning it over at an alarming rate.
With the same personel, Tebows record is markedly better and actually he is missing Lloyd. Is it all just a business decision or are the Broncos a better team with Tebow than Orton? After former Broncos quarterback Brian Griese sprained his ankle and said he was tripped on the stairs of his home by his golden retriever, Bella: “The dog stood up on his hind legs and gave him a push?
