          congrats to the Browns, who in a tie game with 1 minute left managed to fumble inside the Steelers 5 yard line (lol!).
          that led to OT and a Browns loss that gives them the top pick, otherwise the 49ers had a chance to steal.

            The common expectation and narrative about resting players yielded some interesting results this week. The Giants were locked in as the 5 seed but played their entire team for the whole game. Maybe it wasn't the case but keeping the Redskins out of the playoffs sounds like something to play for to me

              a lot of teams would have preferred to still have a chance to knock out the Packers (who now are in for sure), but Giants have beaten the Pack in the postseason frozen tundra before.

                    Giants were traveling to the NFC North Champ's house either way and had the chance to knock out one of their rivals with whom there has been some bad blood lately (things got pretty chippy yesterday). I think that would have taken precedence.

                      i remember when the giants did that when they played the patriots who were going for undefeated. for some reason i think it was the last week of the season. i always will think it gave them the edge to win the superbowl.
