  • filling slots before the auction

12-team mixed 5x5, normal 23-man positions. 6 keepers per team so most players are available. Apparently the auction site we're using (Onroto) doesn't support moving players to different slots during the auction, which is pretty annoying. My keepers are Ramos, Gattis, MAdams, Craig, Cespedes, and Venable, and I have Hamilton in the minors who will likely be up day 1. I have to decide whether to keep Craig at CI or OF. I'm planning to spend 80% or so of my budget on hitting since I have had a lot of success in previous years with midseason pitching pickups. Any opinions?
In the best of times, our days are numbered, anyway. And it would be a crime against Nature for any generation to take the world crisis so solemnly that it put off enjoying those things for which we were presumably designed in the first place, and which the gravest statesmen and the hoarsest politicians hope to make available to all men in the end: I mean the opportunity to do good work, to fall in love, to enjoy friends, to sit under trees, to read, to hit a ball and bounce the baby.

That's pretty silly. I think I'd put him in the OF. Even in a 12-team mixed, 60 outfielders is going pretty deep.

Where is the auction link on the site?

There are "draft room" and "join mock draft" links near the bottom of the nav bar on the left. I emailed support to verify this.

          Thanks

hmmm... I have the mock draft but not the draft room... I wonder if you need to make a change on drafting status to get the draft room (we do a live draft off line so maybe that is why...)

Apparently it's not an issue. From OnRoto support:

If you use the old, Flash rooms, you can't move players by yourself, but the
software is very clever and will make moves for you if it needs to fit a player
you're eligible to bid on. So if you would need to move a SS to CI and an CI to OF
to bid on a SS that you covet, the room will let you do it and then swap the
            positions for you.

If you use the new, HTML5 rooms, the software is just as clever, but it also let's
you drive sometimes and switch players around.
