The ever fragile and totally useless Josh Donaldson has suffered yet another setback and will be out another 3 to 4 weeks after aggravating his calf injury. He did this by simply fielding ground balls. Damn you Donaldson...damn you.

He's a pretty highly regarded prospect up here, had been targeted for the rotation next spring. You're right, he won't K a ton, but the hope is that he should turn into a solid middle of the rotation guy.It certainly feels that way. But I'm distrustful of that feeling and am curious about evidence.

Sean Reid-Foley and Danny Jansen up. Both have been impressive this year - Jansen has a .400 OBP over the last two years as a catcher, and Reid-Foley has an ERA around 3 and 10 K/9 between AA and AAA this year.
In other news, Vlad is hitting .395/.489/.763 with 4 HR and twice as many walks as strikeouts in his first 12 games at AAA.In the best of times, our days are numbered, anyway. And it would be a crime against Nature for any generation to take the world crisis so solemnly that it put off enjoying those things for which we were presumably designed in the first place, and which the gravest statesmen and the hoarsest politicians hope to make available to all men in the end: I mean the opportunity to do good work, to fall in love, to enjoy friends, to sit under trees, to read, to hit a ball and bounce the baby.

And BTW, 6 of their 9 starting hitters had an OBP under .300.It certainly feels that way. But I'm distrustful of that feeling and am curious about evidence.
