Riffing off the Verlander thread, these pitchers have on the surface pitched well enough to remain in your rotation (or perhaps have a decent amount of Ks or Wins), but the combo of high IP with a massive WHIP has virtually, and stealthily, killed your pitching and any chance you have at a title:

Justin Verlander: 132 Ks, but 138 IP, 3.99 ERA, 1.41 WHIP
Ryan Dempster: 108 Ks, but 116 IP, 4.28 ERA, 1.45 WHIP
Bud Norris: 126 IP, 3.93 ERA, 1.41 WHIP
    Jon Lester: 9 wins + 111 Ks, but 132 IP, 4.50 ERA, 1.36 WHIP
    Chris Tillman: 12 wins + 90 Ks, but 120 IP, 3.84 ERA, 1.34 WHIP
    R.A. Dickey: 8 wins + 100 K, but 135 IP, 4.75 ERA, 1.29 WHIP
Kris Medlen: 119 IP, 3.78 ERA, 1.378 WHIP
Jeff Samardzjia: 139 Ks, but 137 IP, 3.94 ERA, 1.31 WHIP
Tim Linceceum: 127 Ks, but 120 IP, 4.73 ERA, 1.38 WHIP

Wow, what's the rest of your staff look like? This has been a year of low fantasy team WHIPs, so that's interesting.

It has been ridiculous. I have one team with a WHIP of 1.271, which isn't great, but I am amazed that it is in last.

Check your fantasy leagues and see what a team of 1.30 WHIPs would get for you. Silent but Deadly!:

            RJEL: 13th of 18
            My 16 tm redraft: 14th of 16
My 16 tm HTH redraft: 13th of 16

And it actually said guys with HIGH IP and WHIP totals are killing your chances. If you're starting a Verlander with his 1.41 WHIP, there's almost no way your staff is Top 5 in WHIP, unless it's a 5-team league.

I've got Samardzjia in one league and I'm middle of the road in WHIP at 1.208.

I'm in 2 mixed leagues, so it's worse here. 1.30 WHIP puts you 3rd to last in the 15-team league and 2nd to last in the 12-team league.

12 team NL only my 1.2859 is good for 10th.

1.1471 is in first place. Also first in era. 3.481.

My 12 team AL only my 1.3189 is good for 8th. Leading is 1.1706.

                  Crazy year.

I was just about to post the same.
If DMT didn't exist we would have to invent it. There has to be a weirdest thing. Once we have the concept weird, there has to be a weirdest thing. And DMT is simply it.

I think today's disaster raised his ERA by 30 pts! He's been a fantasy torpedo also.
