Athletics placed OF Yoenis Cespedes on the 15-day disabled list with a strained muscle in his left hand.
An MRI on Saturday confirmed that Cespedes isn't dealing with any structural damage, but the Athletics can't afford to wait on him with Coco Crisp (groin) also dealing with an injury. Michael Taylor has been recalled from Triple-A Sacramento in a corresponding move and figures to see time in left field along with Seth Smith. Chris Young could also be an option there once Crisp returns to the lineup.
