    Rather odd rankings by CBS.

Some more notable names have become free agents since the World Series ended. I added them to the list above. I don't put too much importance on the rankings. It's just nice to see a list of all notable free agents in one place.

Josh Bell exercised his $16.5 million player option for the 2024 season. So, I guess he was never a free agent.

In the same year that he pitched a perfect game, Domingo German has refused a minor league assignment from the Yankees and become a free agent.

Free agent Matt Chapman crashed the GM meetings and met with at least one team, according to the New York Post’s Jon Heyman. Sounds like Chapman is in a bind, way behind, and willing to make a deal.

The New York Post’s Jon Heyman reports Japanese LHP Shota Imanaga will be posted on Monday.

Nothing official yet, but the DeNA Baystars of Japan’s Nippon Professional Baseball reportedly approved his posting earlier this weekend, according to Yahoo! Japan. Heyman has since clarified that technically Imanaga will be posted after Monday, but the announcement of his posting will take place then. He’ll have a 45-day window to negotiate and finalize a contract with a major league team, but it likely won’t take him very long to agree to a deal. The 30-year-old southpaw recorded a strong 2.66 ERA, 1.02 WHIP and 188/24 K/BB ratio across 159 innings (24 starts) this past season in Japan.

Buster Olney of ESPN reports that the Orix Buffaloes are expected to post RHP Yoshinobu Yamamoto on Monday.

Assuming Yamamoto is posted on Monday, the 45-day negotiating window for MLB teams will begin on Tuesday. The 25-year-old pitcher posted a 1.82 ERA over seven seasons in Japan, including a 1.21 ERA this past season.

I am glad. There were rumors of a Cubs reunion. I wish him well.
