Todd, thanks as always. What are league rules for Tout Wars these days? I recall OBP vs BA. Still 5x5? Any other differences (at least for the only leagues)?

standard 5x5 with OBP instead of BAvg

The only real quirk is the 5th outfielder is a UT/P spot. We call it the swingman.

Any questions about what I was trying to do with my team? My writeup will be outside the paywall at Rotowire so you can read it in length but happy to talk through any AL Only observations with you all.

Looks like you're hoping for some bouncebacks on the hitting side.

Overall you have lots of guys in the $10 - $16 range. Just one hitter over $16 and just one pitcher over $20.

Only one player at $1, and one at $2.

Was that your strategy going in? The anti Stars and Scrubs approach?

Interested to hear. Spent a lot on pitching. Overall seems like you tried to maximize AB and zig on pitching.

I'm working on the Tout writeup now, but it will be similar to the LABR one in that I'm very concerned about the impact of the new rules on offense with extra runners in scoring position. I've made it a point in trading leagues to emphasize pitching so I can hopefully take advantage of the early chaos and build some cache in pitching where I can either trade it to panicking owners or lean into the pitching and try to tread water on the hitting. I had dollar spots allocated for things, but did not plan on getting 5 of same pitchers I drafted in LABR. Bassitt and Rasmussen were two prices too good to pass on even though I had other guys in mind while nothing offensively came at a discount for me unless some of the OF speedsters swipe a bunch of bags

Thoughts on stars & scrubs vs spread the risk this year for “only” leagues? Any different than in past?

                    Good luck, Todd!

the JDM / Cruz combo is interesting. Over/under is 2 SB combined right?

I'll need both bags if Grissom doesn't play at least four months (I'm betting he will).

Is his defense that bad, that he might be down for several months? He hit well in ST, but the Braves want him to work on his fielding.

pushing this up as I ended up winning AL LABR but finishing 7th in Tout even though both teams were built on the same foundation of strong pitching. I just did better with my hits in LABR, especially my late game buys

I have played fantasy baseball for 30 years but did not get my first seat in an expert league draft until 2007, and even then, it was under…

                              Congrats on the win.

When I win it is always either fleecing someone in a trade or scoring in the late rounds or WW.
