Looks cool. I'm guessing the red is bad, green is good, and white is neutral?

Thanks Jason. What does Splits represent?

I was playing with the embed code for my article that went live today at BP

Green is what I consider good, red is worrisome. Again, this is my own little cheatsheet

split is the difference between that pitchers career BA vs RHB or LHB. The higher split guys worry me because they're easily moved into a specialist role -- see Octavio Dotel 2011.

Just eyeballing, but the Kimbrell/Venters Closer By Committee makes a lot of sense based on that data.

As I just noted on BP, I would take the Venters data with a big grain of salt. The K/9 and K/BB numbers are projections based not only on last year but on previous years in the minors. In the minors, however, Venters was primarily a starter, and had a correspondingly lower K rate.

So, what do you think the odds are of Wagner coming back? I read somewhere that he still hasn't filed his retirement papers...

I really hoped he would as I have him signed under a contract for 2011 in my main league (and have to suffer when he doesn't) but it isn't going to happen. He hasn't reported to ST, and he won't. He'll either file his papers soon or be placed on the restricted list for not reporting, because the Braves will have to pay him soon if neither of those two events happen, and they aren't going to do that.

But I also read that the Braves have only 39 players on the 40 man roster...coincidence? Plus, I think that Wagner is the type of guy who stays in shape, and probably only needs a couple of weeks in ST, not to mention that players don't get paid until the season starts. I'm also curious that the Braves are so content to go into the season with NO proven closer, as a contender, that's a priority. I think that there may be some fire with this smoke...

The extra spot on the 40-man roster is irrelevant. There are 39 on it now, and that includes Wagner. The Braves can't take him off until he files or until they place him on the restricted list.
