  • Jered Weaver - Uh Oh...

Hurt his knee in the 1st inning. DL a coming?....

Based on his frustration when coming out...I'd assume a DL stint is a lock.

You could hear him mouth "knee" to the trainer when the trainer et al first came out and clearly on the replay he immediately grabbed it. Impossible to say until the MRI comes back as it could be a simple sprain, torn meniscus who knows. He puts a ton of torque on it in his delivery.

        Alden Gonzalez on Twitter:
"It is indeed a lower-back injury for Jered Weaver, ‪#Angels‬ trainers relayed. No further update at the moment."

Interesting. Probably good news but he clearly was concerned about his knee walking off the diamond.

            Doesn't sound good.

The Angels later said they will wait until Weaver undergoes an MRI and X-rays on Tuesday before deciding whether they will put him on the 15-day disabled list, but the All-Star right-hander said he was still in considerable pain nearly four hours after leaving the game, even after team doctors administered muscle relaxers.

Los Angeles Angels ace Jered Weaver left his start against the Yankees in the first inning after injuring himself while pitching.

Nothing like counting on your star pitcher for 2 starts and instead getting 3 batters this week. I just hope it is a 15 day DL stay, nothing lasting months.
