Padres sell the contract of Christian Villanueva to the Japanese League
This was a weird one for me. Toiled in the minors for years and finally gets a real chance in the bigs at age 27, puts up decent numbers and decides to head to Japan?

He'll make more money there. He had an incredible hot streak to start the season and was otherwise pretty awful. And he can't hit right-handers at all so I think the MLB deals available to him would have been very limited.
Yeah, generally speaking, players make more money in Japan than they do for minimum salary in MLB, and definitely more than they would make in an up-and-down role. If you're guaranteed MLB playing time, you're going to be hard pressed to pass up the service time which is moving you toward arbitration and free agency in MLB, even if the pay in Japan would be higher, but if you think MLB playing time is iffy, Japan is a great place to go and make some cash and hope to possibly build a resume. Korean baseball doesn't pay quite as well, so if you're going there, you definitely think you don't have a reasonable shot at MLB playing time, and it's purely about making more than you would on a minor-league free agent deal for $20k a month.
"Jesus said to them, 'Truly I tell you, the tax collectors and the prostitutes are going into the kingdom of God ahead of you.'"
Donaldson could be the best move this offseason. Getting a former MVP looking to redeem himself on a 1 yr deal is awesome. Would you rather take on $23 Mil for Donaldsons age 33 season, or $250 Mil for Harper/Machado age 26-34... and another $100 mil for age 34-37? Seems like an easy equation.
Congrats to Kevin Seitzer making an impact with the Braves already! Love this move!
Larry David was once being heckled, long before any success. Heckler says "I'm taking my dog over to fuck your mother, weekly." Larry responds "I hate to tell you this, but your dog isn't liking it."

edit: seriously, a team like Bal or Det could trade their position players for farm players, load up on these guys & have a legitimate team; well, at least as legit as their 2018 teams
