Last minute before freeze list for NL 5x5 12 team

    I give:
    Albies $8 year 2
    Felipe Rivero $1 year 2
    Juan Soto ($8 when activated)

    I get:
Ronald Acuna ($8 when activated — doesn’t count against my auction budget or keepers)

If I did the deal I would also be able to keep Jesse Winker at $8.

Reactions? Rest of my keepers are strong.
    Seager 18
    Jose Martinez 2
    Justin Turner 6/final
    Greinke 18
    Luis Castillo 10

Yeah, seems like a no-brainer when you add in Winker. Good job.

Outstanding deal. I'd give up a closer and lesser prospect for a stud prospect all day. You robbed this guy in principle even though it's a fair deal on value.

I don't think Winker 8 moves the needle for me.

I traded away Acuna, Albies, AND Rivero last year, ironically, while chasing a a title.
all of them are the real deal

          good luck!

Albies was wrenching for me. I am a huge believer. Acuna

            1) has an extra year of control
            2) doesn’t count against my auction $
            3) has higher SB floor and much higher HR ceiling

This was literally the most difficult deal I’ve done in 21 years of this game.

That's a really interesting deal and takes balls on both sides. Besides Albies, Rivero at $1 year 2 is very valuable, and Soto is an outstanding prospect that the Nats have been loathe to move to several interested parties.

But, you probably never get another chance. I bet the other guy is going to lose more sleep over this than you do.

                Lol - thanks, I think!

Definitely the craziest “challenge trade” I’ve been a part of.

Most difficult deal in 21 years? I would have made deal for Acuna as well. Would like to hear from someone who wouldnt have in this format. I think you had to make deal.

the challenge for me is really Rivero.

typically you pick up a closer in waiting, he gets the gig, and you trade him and his 10-unit contract before the clock strikes midnight.

Rivero has lockdown, elite skills and is ONE unit - so he's a far different breed of cat.

I'd still take Acuna, gun to my head, as I think he's Eric Davis (who I also owned). but with a stronger 3rd piece, I might prefer the other side.
