    The Cardinals announced that Chaim Bloom will take over as president of baseball operations following next season and have signed him to a five-year contract.
    John Mozeliak will get one more year to run the ship with the Cardinals as the team transitions to Bloom.​

    Contreras was wayyyy to close to the plate. He lined up with his glove even with JD's back leg. Apparently they wanted him closer to the plate to work on a better target for low pitches.

    Really sucks. He was having a great year. I have him and just got a text from a rival, saying "tough break." I didn't see the swing, but how the heck did that happen? The update says he will miss 6-8 weeks.

    Willson Contreras could be done for the year after being removed from Tuesday’s game with a fractured left forearm.

    Contreras was struck directly on the left forearm by a swing, not a backswing, from Mets designated hitter J.D. Martinez and was immediately lifted from the contest.
