One of 2018's many fallen angels, Kipnis had a miserable 2017 season and he's being largely written off this year. But why? He's just 30 years old, far from the cliff. He is generally inconsistent, with many seasons of wide-ranging statistical deviations. But most 2018 projection systems have him being below his norms, probably because when he's banged up, he usually stays banged up for awhile. And the Indians seemed to have frowned on him, as there were rumors of him being moved to the Mets.
But if he's healthy, he could be a nice bargain in 2018.
