As I worried the sprain was the issue for Trout. If surgery, could be shorter than 8 weeks quoted due to InternalBrace.

It was a deal that was a couple of weeks in the making. Was trying to obtain an open DL slot from Trout owner so I could keep Avi Garcia, who I had tied to JDMartinez since draft. Wound up turning the tables and offering up Garcia/JDM for Trout, and threw in D.Duffy. Yes, we were aware that Trout was taken out of the game Sunday, and aware that x-rays were negative. I scoured the beat writers on Monday before the weekly trade deadline to see ANY report of long term damage and found none. Seemed a minor gamble at the time. Hindsight 20/20. There was no mention of Duffy injury either.
