We get to pick three minor leaguers and I already have Mike Trout and Manny Machado so far.

I am up and wonder who is the best pick: Segura or Carter?

Chris Carter has little in front and owns immense power and is already in triple A.

Jean Segura is a 80 type speed guy in high A who stole 50 bases last year and has 13 already this season.

I like Segura more. The question is how long can you wait and do you have any escalators in $ price while holding them? Conceivably, you may not have any room for rookies the next few years if you take him.

Segura is clearly the better talent. But he's a ways away, and Scoscia has other options at the positions Segura would likely field (Kendrick, Izturis, Aybar) to where you have to wonder how long it will take him to break in. Still, if you can manage a two year wait, Segura seems like the no-brainer here. I'm also not as high on Carter as some others either, so my view may be a little skewed here.
