  • 2K11: Jonathon Niese

He was just dropped in my 12-team mixed. Is he worth a pick up?

Current SPs: Haren, Lilly, Shields, Wandy, Kuroda, Wood, Stauffer, Ogando

I have an open spot now but would likely have to drop one of the above when Torres or Hardy get off the DL.
If DMT didn't exist we would have to invent it. There has to be a weirdest thing. Once we have the concept weird, there has to be a weirdest thing. And DMT is simply it.

I like how you cleverly disguised an Assistant GM thread as a 2K11 thread.

I would pick him up, but I don't see who he is better than of your current staff. Maybe he's insurance for Ogando or Travis Wood. I'd probably cut him when your injured guys get back.

      23 innings, 7 K/9, 3.9 BB/9, 0.78 HR/9 ... 56% ground ball rate

Last year he had a good GB% but his LD% was also a bit elevated at 20.6%. His K/9 is lower than last year and his BB/9 is worse. Yes, small sample size. And I do love Citi Field.

But in a 12-team mixed, he's a mediocre Ks guy on a team that won't get him a lot of wins. I like him more than Wood. He may prove more valuable than Ogando. But I think they're all droppable for hotter temporary fixes.
