The Marlins announced Sunday that they have fired manager Mike Redmond.
Bench coach Rob Leary was also let go. There were rumors late last month that Redmond's job might be in jeopardy, but owner Jeffrey Loria gave the skipper a vote of confidence a week later. He obviously changed hit mind, though, canning Redmond just minutes after they were nearly no-hit by the Braves' Shelby Miller. Redmond went 155-207 in three seasons with the Marlins, which includes a 16-22 mark in 2015. The Marlins will announce Redmond's replacement on Monday.
