    still treading water, but this thread keeps me from gaining. might hit 50 degrees here Friday - if it does, the crowds in the streets will look like Egypt after Mubarak resigned...

        So, after checking in at 220 lbs 2 weeks ago, I lost 1.5 lbs per week for the last two, but still up 1 lb overall.

        I've kept up with the exercise, still making gains there. I hate the whole "didn't lose, but re-distributed the weight" thing, but my legs definitely feel much stronger, so I've got to take that as a positive.

        Also crossing my fingers that this week's loss isn't due to minimal eating over the weekend. I went camping and was told that food was covered, but that wasn't so much the case.

        Lastly, I'm 6 weeks sober. Feels good.
        Larry David was once being heckled, long before any success. Heckler says "I'm taking my dog over to fuck your mother, weekly." Larry responds "I hate to tell you this, but your dog isn't liking it."

          This week's tip: 100-calorie Pop Secret popcorn bags. More in there than you'd think.

          Also, for anyone who is an office vending machine snacker, buy the 100-calorie version of whatever you usually buy - Oreos, Cheese Nips, Twix, Chips Ahoy, etc. You'll wind up saving 125-250 calories that way, and once the bag is done, you will be, too. Satisfies the psychological part without pummeling your calorie count. Plus you save a couple of bucks a week, too.

            Well nothing earth shattering but I've kept losing at least something. I'm doing ok I think considering I've been off work for 7 months and had very very little physical activity. I got hired today (job from hell but a job) and start next week. That activity alone should help immensely.

              nice work, fuhrdog - and nice to work, too!

              I think you're probably in a good frame of mind to apply good work/fitness habits right off the bat, which is great. Think about planning meals and exercise time if the job itself doesn't do all of that for you (like my nephew is installing solar panels, so yeah he's good with the exercise part...)

                I was up a couple of pounds for the last couple of weeks. This winter has been rough. Too cold and slippery to get outside much and I'm struggling with the winter munchies and comfort food. Hope to get out for a walk today as it will be in the mid '40's and the roads are starting to clear up.

                i have epiphanies like that all the time. for example i was watching a basketball game today and realized pom poms are like a pair of tits. there's 2 of them. they're round. they shake. women play with them. thus instead of having two, cheerleaders have four boobs.
