Not everybody likes being in loud crowds. And at home you never have to deal with any type of obnoxious people. To some that is a HUGE problem. This is one reason i love going to the Symphony. The point is a fair criticism of NFL games. The crowds have gotten more and more obnoxious and antagonistic. Indeed, that is a big reason why I prefer football on TV. Other factors are the weather, the expense, and that TV makes it easier to focus on where the ball is. I'm not paying $1000+ to sit outside in February for a game between two teams I don't care about, when I can watch the game with family and friends and load up on reasonably priced beer and junk food.
I've been around enough drunken raucousness for one lifetime. It was fun when I was younger, less so now.
It's the opposite trend in Philly. The Vet was a really hostile place when the Eagles were playing, but a lot of the worst offenders were priced out when they moved to the Linc, and if anything there are now complaints that the crowd is not loud or intimidating enough.The crowds have gotten more and more obnoxious and antagonistic.Originally posted by Kevin SeitzerComment

I guess it depends on the definition of 'free'. Free tix are great but parking is something like $100, you can't walk, no taxis, no limos, shuttle bus is $50, airline + hotels with jacked rates because of the event. That would run into lots of cash. If I lived in NY and had to pay $50 to see the game I would probably go. But if I had to pay airline, hotel, shuttle, food to watch a game where I have no rooting interest I will pass. If free means all expenses covered I would be there, even in the cold.Comment
