Plus, Ortiz was a cheater on top of it all --- and right during his best statistical season, if I recall, too. He's very far from a slam dunk in my book, that's for sure. Nelson Cruz remains far from a blindfolded half court shot.
It was 2003 when he tested positive - my bad. I've been poking around and lots and lots of folks assume Ortiz will just sail in to the HoF. Guess I'm out in left field, so to speak, on this one.

    • ...and to return the topic back to the Twins, I would like to officially say that I imagined Miguel Sano would carry a poor BA but .111 is less than half of what I expected. Pull it together, bro.

      • Kiriloff and Nick Gordon both called up. Gordon probably serves as a defensive replacement to avoid the kind of debacle that happened against the A's.

It's not fair to expect him to hit his weight. But I did expect more than 1/3rd his weight.

            • Uh-oh. Alex Kirilloff will see a specialist and get imaging tests for his right wrist injury.

Byron Buxton left the game today with an apparent leg injury.

It was a fun ride while it lasted.

They're saying Buxton is day-to-day with a hip strain.

I have no shares, but I've appreciated the talent from afar, though I have no faith in his ability to stay healthy for long. The long term Buxton owner in my main league finally had something to crow about. He is bummed now, but I told him Buxton produced more in a month than a lot of guys will over two months.

I think we need to add a durability tool to grade for players. I know it is hard to gauge and just about anyone can get hurt, but some guys seem to have have bodies that break down more than others.

                            • There's no doubt durability is a skill.
