        • ESPN's Jeff Passan reports that the Yankees and Aroldis Chapman have completed a new contract that will keep the closer in New York.

Passan says that another year and $18 million will be added onto Chapman's two-year, $30 million deal to keep the closer from exercising his opt-out clause.

Chapman will be 32 years old next season.

Dammit, I JUST traded for him Monday. This is what I get for pushing for a trade for an injury prone pitcher in February. I gave two top 50 high upside prospects for the bum. Why didn't he have this done in November?!

Really though, Montgomery, Loaisiga, Michael King, and Deivi Garcia become interesting.

For now, Severino has been placed on a new anti-inflammatory and will be reevaluated in a few days’ time. No new tests have been scheduled or recommended, according to Cashman.

But he's still heading back to NY to meet with more specialists and do more tests, so I think this news was premature.
