  • Predict the career home run total for Albert Pujols

At one point, 600 seemed like a foregone conclusion with 650 and possibly even 700 in sight. Where do you see him finishing now, given his slow start and the fact that he's looking like a very old 34?

Edit to add: he's at 485 entering tonight's game.

I've said it since he rookied. If Albert Pujols is 34 then I'm still 25.

I ran predictions for him through age 40, and ended up right at 650. Seeing how others are voting, I'm apparently very optimistic, or a bit nuts.
Considering his only baseball post in the past year was bringing up a 3 year old thread to taunt Hornsby and he's never contributed a dime to our hatpass, perhaps?

How long his body can hold up is the real question at this point. I chose 576-600, but I could see him eeking out a bit more if he can stay on the field and stay healthy. My assumption is that he can still average 20 homers a year for the next 4 years or so (after this one), and then there's likely a cliff looming. He'll be an interesting one to watch in his latter years.

With his contract, he will get more chances for longer than he should, so I said 601-625.
