  • Did anyone get an email from Sea Dog Stat this AM?

If so, please PM me after you read it or PM me your phone number. Sorry to sound cryptic. I just dont know what to make of it.

        Yes, it's spam.

Just got a call about it from a friend earlier today - one of her friends "sent" that same mail from her mail account to her entire mailbox.

Got one from a friend of mine last year:
I'm writing this with tears in my eyes, I’m sorry i didn't inform you
about my trip, I had a trip to the United Kingdom and a bizarre thing
happened to me. I was mugged at a gun point last night, it happened at
the park of the Hotel were i lodged but thank God i wasn't hurt, all
cash, credit card and cell-phone were stolen off me...but luckily for
me i still have my life and passports with me, I was able to make
contact with the UK Police and i was directed to the Embassy, but they
seems to be taking things too slow.

I need your help so urgently.. My flight leaves pretty soon but i am
having problems sorting out the hotel bills I need a quick loan to get
things fixed out here, I promise to refund as soon as i get back
home.. Please reply asap. So i can tell you what to do and how to get
                the money to me.

Hope to read from you soon.
                Kelvin

I'm guessing these things actually work sometimes, or they wouldn't keep doing it. But maybe they should spend some of their "earnings" on getting a proper translation. This email supposedly came from my friend who is Yale educated and has a law degree from Tulane.

And if the improper grammar didn't give the ruse away, maybe the fact that he signed it "Kelvin" when his actual name is Kevin was a clue. BTW we all just call him Kelvin now.

Another variation is when a teenager will call their "grandmother" and say they need money without telling their parents. Then they get the mark to give them money, or even worse, bank account information.

Sea Dog Stat really needs to find some more reputable porn sites.

I just texted SDS to let him know what's up. The hacker contacted me by Gchat.

WTF?!? BIG thanks to KS for texting me... I have no idea how he got on my gmail but that was scary... step up a 2-step verification on gmail so they would have to have my phone to get the text thru google authenticator.

Wow... had hotmail hacked before and deleted all the contacts out of there, but hotmail has a link to import contacts..awesome, Microsoft!

                              Apologies, fellas...

Btw, send money to Windham, not London...that was a typo
