Lesson for a lot of us who are almost as old or only about 10-15 year younger than Fassel - don't mess with chest pains.
I'm just here for the baseball.

I did, apparently had two heart attacks before the one that landed me in the hospital. The ER nurse told my work buddy that she'd never see a shade of blue like that in a human being...she said I looked like a smurf.

          Geez, man.

Glad you’re around to tell the tale!

Appreciate it...I had quite a run there for a couple of years, the Heart attacks, Cancer, Kidney stones, Sepsis...a hell of a ride. The sepsis was the worst because nobody diagnosed it until I asked my cancer Do to look and see if she could find out why I kept getting worse. She called back after some test results came back and ordered me to get into the hospital RIGHT NOW! They got me right after a month or so.

I tell people I lived hard for 62 years, paid the price for 3 years, and now I'm a (relatively) good boy in my retirement years.

Bottom line is listen to your body, and don't take any crap from GP's. Specialists are the only way to go...

reminds me of the forever Maple Leafs owner Harold Ballard, who made it into his 80s in spite of a terrible health record and cantankerous personality.

one Toronto writer, asked once how he could possibly still be alive, replied, "The only sensible answer is - even the Devil himself won't take him!"

Horns, I hope you enjoyed that line - but not so much that it impacts your current state of affairs.

my Mom BITD in her 70s had pretty bad asthma, and laughing too much was a rough trigger.

so whenever I "got on a roll," she would have to wave me away to stop the gig immediately. which I did.

she used to joke that God was a bit cruel to give her both asthma and such a story/joketelling son, lol

It's a great line, and I laughed because I know that there's a lot of truth in it...

                        • i just adopted a new kitten last week. I'm 54... cat will probably live 16 years or so... It's kind of a bummer to think I've probably got one cat's life left in me.
I'm not expecting to grow flowers in the desert...
